Jamie Markley

Started in ’86 at an AM Country Station in the Quad Cities.  Did weather updates overnight.  Would actually listen to Heavy Metal records off the air because I was so bored.  (A few times by mistake I cued the wrong record and played Ozzy instead of Reba McEntire….good times)  Also worked at FM country WLLR in the Quad Cities, before going to WAAG/WGIL in Galesburg from ’87 to ’89.  (People can make fun of small market radio all they want, but those stations in Galesburg would win in a lot of major markets.  They are total pros.)  Then went to Rock Station WWCT in Peoria to do afternoons in March of ’89.  Stayed at WWCT until August of ’98, when WWCT was sold to Kelly Communications.  The run we had at WWCT until ’98 was so much fun.  I feel very lucky to have been in radio during that time.  Worked with a lot of great people.   Left to work at Rocker WXRX in Rockford in ’98, and was also very lucky to work with total pros at RadioWorks.  Came home to Peoria in 2000.  Did afternoons and then mornings at WWCT, then afternoons on The Eagle, and filled in on country station WXCL under the name “Jack Austin”.  Hilarious.  Started at WMBD in August of 2004.  Will be here until they stop Cannonball Friday.
