A weather system ahead of a cold front caused severe thunderstorms, as they moved across Illinois Monday evening.
A Flash Flood Advisory has been issued for Peoria, northern Central Tazewell, and western Woodford until early Tuesday morning. A Flash Flood Warning for Marshall and Stark counties until 9:00 a.m. Tuesday.
Heavy rain and wind gusts of 50-60 mph, along with penny size hail, were reported in Central Illinois. The National Weather Service reported 1-2 inches of rain fell in an hour before 11pm Monday from Brimfield to north of Peoria.
Ameren reported scattered power outrages in parts of Peoria and rural Tazewell counties.
The City of Peoria reported a tree falling on a garage in the 1100 block of Folkers Ave. Tree damage was also reported near Reservoir and Southport; as well as Prospect and Crestwood.
The band of severe weather extended from West Central Illinois into Chicago.
