PEORIA, Ill. – A man arrested in connection to a shooting in Peoria.
A traffic stop and footchase near Adams and Pecan around midnight on Saturday July 25th, led to the arrest of Laison March, 22, was wanted in connection to a shooting incident and other charges.
A handgun was located by the K-9 officer during the arrest.
“While processing the arrest, officers determined March was wanted in connection with two other Peoria Police incidents,” said Public Information Officer Amy Dotson.
The incidents included the shooting that occurred July 14 in the area of Sheridan and Brons. Police responded to reports of an adult male victim with a gunshot wound to the leg.
March was also wanted for a disturbance on W. Hanssler July 2.
According to Dotson, March was booked into the Peoria County Jail on multiple charges.
“Resisting, obstructing, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, no FOID card, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated domestic battery, domestic battery and theft,” Dotson said.
