Manual last week, Richwoods this week. For the first time, boys' high school basketball teams from within Peoria's city limits are represented in both weekends of March Madness at the Civic Center. Manual finished runner-up in the 2A last weekend. Richwoods is vying for a 3A championship this weekend. Richwoods held a send off assembly Thursday morning. Richwoods Principal Steve Ptacek is especially proud of the Knight's basketball players' report cards. He says both the girls team last year and this years boys' team excelled academically. The boys' team is trying to match the girls' 3A state championship in 2009. The Knights play Chicago Marshall Friday at 1215 in Carver Arena.
