What alternatives are available for the future of the Regional Office of Education in Peoria County will be dicussed by most staff Friday. Superintendent Gerry Brookhart says the Courthouse office will be clsoed for one day, so staff can meet out at Wildlife Prairie State Park.
Brookhart says the meeting is being called a Day of Reconcilliation. But, he says actually, staff will discuss their future options and try to lay out a plan of action.
Supertintendents and some assistants have continued to work without pay after Governor Pat Quinn suspended their salaries July 1st in a budget cutting move. The state legislature has not tken any action on the Governors action during the current Veto Session yet.
Brookhart says if the legislature fails to restore the Superintendents' pay bt the end of the session next Thursday, it becomes a dead issue.
