Governor Pat Quinn will make a Memorial Day Weekend visit to Peoria.
Quinn will appear at the Illinois Army National Guard base at the Peoria International Airport at 11:00 a.m. Saturday.
Quinn is expected to tout his "Welcome Home Heroes" program, launched two years ago.
The "Welcome Home Heroes" program is designed to make homeownership more affordable for Illinois veterans transitioning to civilian life.
It includes a $10,000 forgivable loan over two years for down payment and closing cost assistance; a 30-year fixed rate mortgage with an affordable interest rate; and a mortgage tax credit worth up to $20,000 over the life of the loan to reduce federal income tax liability.
Quinn allocated $5-million in Illinois Jobs Now money toward the program back in February.
