A change in strategy for Quality Quest for Health.
The Peoria-based health improvement collaborative is switching gears from looking at how health care is provided to getting you and me to live healthier.
"There are already so many external factors on physicians to prove their overall quality of services," say Quality Quest board chairman Dr. John Gilligan, "it didn't really make much sense to have outside organizations trying to push the same agenda."
"In other words," continues Gilligan, "we're looking at ways people live that affect their health for better or for worse."
Gilligan say Quality Quest will also join forces with the Peoria City/County Health Department and the Heart of Illinois United Way to get its message out.
"The Health Department focus has always been on what I call public health anyway," Gilligan tells 1470 and 100.3 WMBD. "And when you look at the United Way, there are so many agencies that participate it becomes an excellent vehicle to disseminate messages."
Health Department administrator Greg Chance will be Managing Director of Quality Quest, effective April 1st, and the organization's offices will move from downtown Peoria to the Health Department.
Chance has stepped down from his role as a Quality Quest board member.
