The Peoria Metro Unemployment Rate for May was 7.2 percent, one percent lower than the year before.
The May rate is up 2 tenths of a percent from April's rate, which was a big improvement over March's 8.8 percent mark.
The last three months are as follows; May 7.2, April 7.0, March 8.8.
Illinois' unemployment rate for May was 7.5 percent.
The national average was 6.3 percent.
