(VIDEO)-There's actually a pair of college graduations taking place at Peoria Civic Center Saturday.
Besides Bradley University's in Carver Arena, Saint Francis Medical Center College of Nursing conducts theirs in the Grand Ballroom.
Nursing College President Patti Stockert says her industry is booming.
Stockert says her current class graduates 105.
She says 9 her May grads are getting Masters degrees and 2 are receiving Doctorates.
Stockert says it's predicted there will be a nationwide need for 700,000 more nurses by 2020.
The President says there are no nursing shortages here.
But, Stockert says OSF still hires 300 nurses yearly, so there is job opportunity.
Stockert says nursing is the fastest growing segment of the medical chain.
The President says there are other reasons for a huge nursing need besides general healthcare industry growth.
Stockert says there are many nurses reaching retirement age. There are also many growing specialized fields, which creates more need.
Stockert says the St. Francis Medical Center College of Nursing produces between 120-150 grads annually and that number is growing.
The President says typically, the college draws from a 60 mile radius. But. Stockert says more having being enrolling from the Chicago area recently. And, she says since the Masters and Doctorate programs are online, student from around the country enroll for furher education.
