New Proposal For Dunlap Schools
Dunlap school district officials have a new plan to address a $2.1 million deficit.
The school board is holding a special meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Ridgeview Elementary School to talk about the updated changes. Hundreds of people showed up to a public hearing last month to speak out against planned cuts, which included eliminating band and orchestra in elementary schools and laying-off 19 teachers.
District officials said the budget gap created by several years of increased attendance and decreased revenue.
The board is also expected to vote on the teachers' new collective bargaining agreement Monday.
