It may be somewhat slow going, but Peoria Riverfront Museum is making progress financially.
The museum has recovered from a deficit of about $680,000 left over from the first half of the fiscal year that ended in June.
"We're breaking even each month, and have for several months, and we anticipate being able to do that going forward," says Riverfront Museum President and CEO Sam Gappmayer.
The museum had roughly 157,000 visitors in fiscal year 2014.
Gappmayer says with more popular attractions like the successful "Ripley's Believe It, Or Not" exhibit, they expect 130,000 people to walk through their doors in the new fiscal year that began July 1st.
Donations and gifts to Peoria Riverfront Museum were up dramatically, with them bringing in over $1.2 million from outside sponsors.
