A former Peoria County Board member wants to be on the District 150 school board.
Jeff Lickiss is one of the orginal few to express an interest in the District 3 seat before it was officially vacated and has confirmed to the board he's still interested.
This is Lickiss' second try at becoming a District 150 board member. Lickiss, along with Ernestine Jackson, was defeated in the 2010 election for the District 3 seat now occupied by Chris Crawford.
Lickiss joins former Morton Dist. 709 board member Nancy Overcash and former Peoria City Council candidate Dan Adler as confirmed applicants for the other District 3 seat. That seat was vacated July 1 when newly-elected board member Sue Wolstenholm resigned immediately after being sworn in.
The group Change150 is recommending the board appoint Adler.
The board is accepting nominations and resumes through Noon Friday, July 11 before starting an interview process.
Potential candidates are required to live within Peoria Public Schools' District 3 boundaries, which is primarily north of Forrest Hill Avenue.
