Nearly 4,000 people will converge on downtown Peoria. Leadership Team Development's regional convention will be at the Peoria Civic Center Thursday through Saturday.
Leslie Williams with the Peoria Area Convention and Visitors Bureau says this a big draw for Peoria for this time of year.
Williams says the LTD has booked over 1,400 hotel rooms - meaning an economic impact of $320,000 to the community.
Williams says this also shows groups still find Peoria an attractive meeting please, even after the temporary closure of the Pere Marquette Hotel.
Williams says later this month, nearly 10,000 people will attend the annual Illinois Music Educators Association gathering at the Civic Center.
