Koehler hopes Blagojevich sentence deters others from corruption

46th District State Senator Dave Koehler hopes the state of Illinois can now move on from the regime of Rod Blagojevich now that the former governor has been sentenced on corruption convictions.

Koehler is hopeful this closes the Blagojevich chapter in state government. He says everyone needs to make sure more ethical and upright people get into public offices. Koehler is hopeful the 168 month sentence will serve as a reminder to current and future officeholders. He

Koehler was part of the Senate when Blagojevich was impeached and removed from office in January of 2009.
