Illinois Governor Says 'Budget Needs Work'

Illinois Governor Pat Quinn says he's not done working on a state budget.

State lawmakers last week approved a $35.7 billion spending plan that doesn't include an extension of the state's 2011 income tax increase, as Quinn wanted it to avoid massive budget cuts.

Legislators have indicated that they'll return after the November election to address the revenue issue. When the tax rolls back in January there will be a $1.8 billion revenue dip.

Governor Quinn commented on Tuesday that the state budget needs work. He also says his Republican challenger Bruce Rauner is "too timid" to lay out a plan.

Rauner says his proposed budget is coming soon.
