PEORIA, Ill. – Fire forces a Peoria family out of its home.
Firefighters responded to reports of a fire at 2103 N. North Street at 4:17 a.m. Sunday. They arrived to find light smoke coming the roof.
Battalion Chief Lore Baxter said the first arriving company helped the family safely out of the residence. A second company advanced to the second floor and found a hidden fire in the ceiling.
Additional crews on the scene checked for extensions of the fire and hot spots.
The Red Cross was contacted to assist the family in finding lodging.
An investigator determined the cause to be electrical.
There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters.
