Peoria Public Works Director Dave Barber says mother nature gave city road crews quite a battle during the 5 inch wind and cold driven snowstorm Thursday. Barber says the timing and impending elements made the early fight tough. Barber says crews had gotten to about 40 percent of residential streets by mid afternoon Friday. He says trucks were back out on the main roads Friday to make sure the Friday drive home is safer. Then crews will be back to concentrating on the side streets again.
