A Bartonville man is issued a number of drug and traffic charges after a weekend crash on I-74.
Corey Schalber, 42, was driving a truck pulling a boat trailer near Brimfield Saturday morning. The truck went out of control after passing a semi and rolled onto its top, throwing Schalber from the vehicle.
Schalber was life-flighted to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, where he is listed in serious condition.
State Police have charged Schalber with failure to reduce speed, not wearing a seat belt, driving under the influence of drugs and possession of less than 2.5 grams of pot.
Schalber was issued a notice to appear in court because of his injuries.
