It's move-in day at Bradley University Saturday.
"We're expecting about 1,200 students to be moving in," BU spokesperson Renee Charles tells news partner News 25. "So, you can imagine a lot of activity."
And it's big test for the new Main and University intersection.
"We are going to turn University Street into a two-way street between Main Street all the way to Bradley Avenue," according to Bradley Police Chief Brian Joscko. "The right-hand lane is going to be for Bradley traffic. The left-hand lane will be for through traffic."
IDOT has concerns traffic will spill onto I-74.
Bradley move-in day hours are from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday.
There are other traffic pattern changes to be aware of:
There is no parking along Bradley Avenue from University to Glenwood, the west side of the 800-900 blocks of University Street and the south side of the 1300-1500 blocks of Main Street.
The intersections of Elmwood and Main, St. James and University, Duryea and Bradley and Bradley and Institute will be closed beginning at 7 a.m. Saturday.
Fredonia Avenue from Duryea to Glenwood will be closed beginning Sunday at 3 p.m. for an evening block party.
Peoria Charter Coach buses will depart from the front of Baker Hall on Main Street at Institute the entire weekend.
