Prairie Air Show Director Brett Krause says plans for an air show in Peoria for 2012 are very close to being finalized. But, he admits it will not be at it's normal location for at least one year. All Krause can say is the airshow will be held in the Peoria community and will be a very big event. Krause does say he is in negotiations with Peoria Airport to reorganize the Prairie Air Show there in 2013 and beyond.
Airport officials say they are taking the year off from hosting a show, to clear the air before proceeding again. Both Krause and airport Director Gene Olson met shortly after this summer's event to air concerns the airport had with how the show was operated. That's when the airport decided to take a one year sabbatical from hosting the event.
Krause says everything is falling into place for the show next yerar, likely set for June 8th and 9th at the still to be announced site. That's about a month and a half earlier than the traditional late July airshow dates in the past.
