Dan Adler has formally applied for the vacant District 3 Peoria District 150 school board seat.
Adler is Change150's recommendation to be considered for the post.
The District 3 vacancy was created when Sue Wolstenholm, who defeated Laura Petelle in the March election, resigned Tuesday immediately after being sworn in.
Adler joins former Morton District 709 board member Nancy Overcash as confirmed applicants.
The board has 45 days to appoint a replacement.
Applications and resumes from interested parties are being accepted until Noon Friday, July 11. Board members will then schedule interviews with some or all of the applicants before appointing a new District 3 member.
The board hopes to make an appointment and seat the new board member during its August 11 meeting.
Whoever is appointed will serve until the next school board election next spring. That winner will serve the remainder of the five-year term through June 30, 2019.
