Peoria School District 150 is releasing information about an attempted abduction at one of its primary schools. A district spokesman tells WEEK News 25 a student told Glen Oak School officials about the attempted abduction Thursday morning. Through a Skylert phone message, as well as letters sent home with kids, parents were notified about the incident. The letter describes the man allegedly involved as a white male with freckles approximately 5' 9" and 180 pounds. The district says it increased security after school Thursday, but it's not releasing details about the incident. Parents say the school was let out early Thursday and all after school activities were cancelled. The Peoria Police Department was not informed of the incident Thursday.
