$2 Million Powerball Ticket Sold In Illinois

They may not have won the top prize, but someone in Illinois is now a millionaire.

Illinois Lottery officials say a liquor store in Joliet sold a
$2 million winning ticket in Wednesday’s $758.7 million Powerball drawing.

The winning numbers were 6-7-16-23-26, with a PowerPlay number of 4.

Illinois’ $2 million winning ticket was sold at Highland Liquors, 1619 E. Cass Street in Joliet. It matched five of the six numbers, plus the PowerPlay. The store receives a $20,000 bonus for selling a winning ticket.

The Illinois Lottery urges the lucky winner to immediately sign the back of the ticket and keep it in a safe place until they visit one of the Lottery’s five Prize Centers in Chicago, Des Plaines, Rockford, Springfield or Fairview Heights. Winners have one year from the original date to claim their prize.

The lone jackpot winning ticket for Wednesday night’s $758.7 million Powerball drawing was sold at the Pride Station & Store in Chicopee, Massachusetts.

Saturday’s Powerball drawing will be worth at least $40 million.
